Transhumanism, Technology, and the Call to Christian Educators

Purposeful Lab is back with a brand new season—and the conversation is more relevant than ever.

In the first episode, Dr. Dan Kuebler dives into the complex and rapidly growing movement of transhumanism—a worldview that explores and promotes the integration of humans and technology. Joined by Dr. Michael Deem from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Public Health, the two discuss how this movement has evolved, why it’s accelerating, and what ethical questions we must confront as the line between human and machine becomes increasingly blurred.

So what does this have to do with Christian education?

Everything.

This season’s podcast episode is a wake-up call for educators. Our students are not only immersed in technology—they are being formed by it. Artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and social media aren’t just tools; they’re shaping how young people think, connect, and understand themselves.

That’s why this year’s MACSA Educators Conference is more timely—and more important—than ever.

Our theme, “Discipling Our Students in This Digital Age,” goes beyond theory. It’s a practical and spiritual call to action. How do we equip students to live wisely in a world shaped by algorithms and devices? How do we disciple them to love truth, seek wisdom, and remain rooted in Christ?

Join us this fall as we gather with like-minded educators to wrestle with these questions, explore biblical frameworks, and gain tools to lead with clarity and conviction.

Stay tuned for keynote spotlights, breakout session previews, and registration details. In the meantime, check out Purposeful Lab’s new episode and start thinking about the big questions we’ll be digging into together.

Together, let’s prepare to lead the next generation—not just in the classroom, but in the digital age.
