What a "glorious" time was experienced by all at our annual MACSA Track Meet on Wednesday, April 23rd. The 707 student athletes, representing 24 of our member schools, gathered at MESSIAH U to compete, both individually and as a team, in the fantastic weather God provided! The venue of the Messiah campus, and beautiful track facility only added to the spirit of excellence, fellowship, and joyful competition that marked the entire day.
What made it additionally grand, was the gathering of students & coaches in fellowship together with a common mindset and purpose in doing their best to His glory. From my vantage point, it doesn't get any better than that! Their testimonies "in word and deed" were in the running, jumping, throwing...and congratulating/encouraging one another. It was a visual witness to Christ, which makes our schools distinctive in this educational world these days. Special congratulations to West Shore Christian Academy and Harrisburg Christian School for tying to take home top honors for high school boys team, and to Phil-Mont Christian Academy for top high school girls team.
And special thanks to Jen Bleecker, Track Coordinator, for all her leadership & love for the sport and the One who gave us bodies to compete. Thanks to our officials and time keeper for a superb "running" of the entire event. Thank you Messiah for hosting us. Thanks, as well, to all who gave of themselves in volunteering to monitor events, transporting the kids to & from, and...well, being there. It's what they (we) all need - - - opportunities to network, share life, and fellowship together in a temporal activity with an eternal benefit. I know I was blessed to be observing it all at work.
Blessing & Peace,
Bill Stevens
