Shrewsbury Christian Academy - Head of School
Job Description
The Head of School is the Chief Officer of Shrewsbury Christian Academy and shall report directly to the Board of Trustees and work collaboratively with parents, educators, and the community to prepare children with a biblically based education. This education will reveal God’s ultimate plan for His creation, help the students discover their place and purpose in it, while encouraging them to passionately pursue these to the praise and glory of Jesus Christ.
Job Summary
In fulfilling the role as Head of School the successful candidate will develop policies, procedures, and programs that will implement the directives of the governing board and all federal, state, and local requirements.
Job Duties
This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties; however the Head of School will perform the following responsibilities:
• Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate faculty & staff.
• Develop and maintain community relationships.
• Oversee the school’s day-to-day operational practices in a manner of integrity, efficiency and accountability
• Review, design and improve academic programs to insure academic excellence. Insure Scripture is taught as truth and integrated into the learning experience
• Effectively administer all operational policies
• Cultivate the Matthew 18 principle in problem resolution
• Prepare, develop and coordinate the preparation of budgets, projections, and forecasts with the Finance Committee
• Review and understand faculty and staff compensation packages. Design and recommend a compensation strategy for the entire staff based on position, contribution and merit
• Design and implement a timeline and strategy for school accreditation
• Prepare and present monthly reports to the board
• Comply with board policies
• Proactively communicate with the Board Chair person
Qualifications
• A servant leader with a strong Christian faith, attends a Christian church regularly and supports and agrees with the Shrewsbury Christian Academy Statement of Faith
• Bachelor’s degree required, Education Degree and/or Master’s degree preferred
• Experienced and skilled in computer systems in a windows based environment.
• Must demonstrate ability to articulate clearly and effectively
• Effective professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Must demonstrate initiative and leadership skills.

Position: Library Media Associate
For the 2011-2012 school year, Philadelphia-Montgomery Christian Academy is seeking an individual interested in obtaining a full-time position while learning about the rewarding occupation of School Library Media Specialist through on-the-job training. This position is an exciting opportunity for a student of School Library Media Science.
Philadelphia-Montgomery Christian Academy is an independent, college preparatory, co-educational day school serving children from PreK through 12th grade in suburban Philadelphia. PMCA subscribes to the Reformed system of doctrine as contained in the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Confession of Faith (Philadelphia Baptist Confession). Founded in 1943 the school holds current accreditation through Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, is certified as a non-profit organization in Pennsylvania, and is directed by an independent, self-perpetuating Board of Trustees.

• covering study halls in the Library Media Center
• learning and using skills related to all aspects of the job
• commitment to continue in Library and Information Science degree program currently enrolled in

Position: Headmaster
In addition to the general school leadership, the Headmaster also acts as high school principal, directing the teaching and support staff in its daily operation.
Included in areas of supervision are budgeting and financial management, curriculum leadership, teacher supervision, and development.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in educational administration or a related field
Experience: At least 3 yrs. of teaching
At least 5 years of administration in a Christian school setting
Also to be considered: experience in leading a school through accreditation, curriculum development experience, and business management experience
Spiritual: Must be currently active and involved in a local evangelical church ministry

School Profile:
Cumberland Christian School is a non-denominational K-12 Christian school located in the heart of South Jersey. Founded in 1946, it is one of the oldest Christian schools in the region. The curriculum is traditional, with a strong emphasis on basic skills. CCS is a leader in providing Christian education for students of all abilities. This includes a strong component for special education through the Learning Lab program.
Over the years CCS has maintained a strong conservative theological position, while working with a variety of Bible believing churches. The school serves more than 135 sending churches.
Director of Finance and Operations
Delaware County Christian School is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations who will be responsible for all support operating areas of the school, including finance, facilities, food service, transportation, technology, and human resources, with the assistance of five or more direct reports. The Director must have a strong financial and accounting background: the operating budget of the school is $10M; 125 employees, two campuses totaling 50 acres with 200,000 square feet of building space. Net assets exceed $27M including an endowment of $5M. The Director must have the ability to engage in effective strategic financial planning to help the school prepare for the future. The Director will report directly to the Head of School and will also work closely with the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees.
